Hello there!!! My name is Jocelyn Carver and I am a 19 year old sophomore at Randolph, Macon College in Ashland, VA. I'm majoring in English and minoring in Secondary Education and hope to be a high school English teacher someday. I am also known as the grammar police, so watch out!!! I'm a Belcamp native and graduated from Aberdeen High School class of 2007!!! I was an avid band member there and also played soccer and softball. I have the best friends and family I could ever ask for!!! I love the fact that we are so close and I love them all dearly and enjoy spending every waking moment with them. I am a dog person (I have a puppy at home I miss very much) but I also have a fish here at college (Named Boudica for all you history people) I love to go skiing for the pure fun of it...I may fall on my butt quite often but I have fun anyways : ) Killington is AMAZING and I also love Canadia (no, that is not a typo!) : )

Books:
I LOVE to read!!! Sci-fi/fantasy is my favorite and my favorite authors are David Eddings (The Belgariad, The Malloreon, The Elenium, and The Tamuli series' and The Redemption of Althalus), Brandon Sanderson (Mistborn, The Well of Ascention, Elantris) and Robert Jordan (The Wheel of Time series). I also like the trilogy by Diana Pharaoh Francis (Path of Fate, Path of Honor, Path of Blood) as well as her novel The Cipher. George R.R. Martin is also a huge favorite (Song of Fire and Ice Series) and of course I love me my Harry Potter!!!

T.V. and Movies:
I like to watch cartoons, but I also watch more "mature" tv shows when I feel like it. I love Scrubs, Family Guy, Jeopardy, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Will and Grace (I AM Grace), Keeping Up Appearances, and many others. One of my favorite shows was History's Mysteries on the History Channel, but it doesn;t come on anymore, so I settle for Monsterquest, which I never get to see as a result of a night class...oh well...As far as movies are concerned, I like pretty much all kinds. Favorites include The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars (not so much the new ones, but the "first" 3), Indiana Jones, Rocky Horror Picture Show, RENT, Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Finding Nemo, basically anything Disney, Dragonheart, anything funny, and tons of other things I can't remember right now...

Music:
I LOVE music from the 80's!!! Everyone tells me I was born in the wrong decade and I have to agree becasue basically everything I listen to is over 10 years old (or by bands that are that old). I am a HUGE Billy Joel fan, and I also love Journey (Steve Perry=happiness), Van Halen, Def Leppard, Styx, U2, Sting, The Police, Enya, Alice Cooper, Oingo Boing, The B-52s (Rock Lobster!) and oh so many more!!! I also LOVE musicals, so anything from Wicked, RENT, Phantom, Mamma Mia, Jesus Christ Superstar, etc. makes me happy. I also listen to country on occasion and like classical (Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and Vivaldi to name a few) and I absolutely love Rhapsody in Blue. The Canadian Brass is great, as is Gas House Gang, and band music is amazing. Basically, Music=Life for me!!!
